Mulberries are very similar in taste and appearance to blackberries, being somewhat smaller, and lacking the rock-hard little seeds that blackberries have. They are ready to harvest when the berries have turned completely black. An advantage of growing ever-bearing mulberries is that they produce small batches of fruit throughout the warm season, whereas standard mulberries tend to dump all of their fruit at once, making a mess of berries that can’t be harvested and consumed in time before they spoil (one reason you won’t find mulberries in stores is because they have a very short shelf life).Dwarf Ever-Bearing Mulberries grow as small bushes, and can be trimmed down to be as small as two feet tall!
